![]() Why this ship is the best: The Wickes is just a Sampson with a couple more torpedoes and a little more speed. Realistically, you won’t be able to get that many because you don’t want to be turned 100% to the side which means you can’t use all 10 at the same time. ![]() The Dresden has 10 guns that can shoot 12 times per minute meaning you can shoot up to 120 shells per minute. In early tiers the most important thing for a cruiser is to have plenty of DPS. Why this ship is the best: The Dresden takes this spot because it has so many guns. They also have some of the best smoke in the game which is great for supporting your team. Focusing on guns while having plenty of torpedoes to back them up, American destroyers will bully others off of capture points if not outright kill them. Why this ship is the best: You’re going to see a lot of American destroyers on this list, because simply, they’re just the safest destroyers to play. Being a little faster makes it a lot more fun to play compared to the others, which feel like they broke down and now you have to paddle them. I put the Hermelin on top though, because it’s fast, and it shoots fast. That being said, tier I ships don’t have enough differences for it to really matter. Also, playing in a tier I ship, you will never come across anything but other tier Is. There’s only cruisers, they only have HE shells, and have no other abilities besides repair party. Why this ship is the best: Tier I is basically it’s own game. Happy new year! With a large scale aircraft carrier update planned, they were left out of this article, but I tried ranking everything else(except premium ships.) Also, please note that there's a slight rock paper scissors element involved in WoWs so the best ship for one match may not be the best for every match. so the more information you pack into a single calculation, based on assumption, the more innacurate that calculation gets. What are the best ships in World of Warships? Also a DM is going to constantly be under cover, and not always have ideal targets. For example the Des Moines cannot shoot as far as a Hindenburg to begin with. Also the graphs that compare flight time and accuracy over range is not realistic, as it does not take into account MAX RANGE. Otherwise you need to assume all shells land with 100% accuracy, which is not realitic.ĮDIT: also, the website you linked is only comparing CHANE FIRE under the assumption that both ships have equal hit accuracy and range, which will never be the case. It makes it much easier to get a sence of how many fires you can expect on a given target of specific tier, per shell that actually lands. Most people would not be interested in rate of fire probability calculated with fire rate, since that is an EXPECTED value, but rather the probability of setting a fire for each shell, as that is the actual value.Īlso, the spreadsheet I linked is simplified. Cool spreadsheet, but what's the point? It's still for ONE shell, not taking rate of fire into account, which above website does for you. You need to copy it before you can edit, this is to protect the document integrity. Use the above to help calculate true fire chance. The french are special but they got a good reload and I enjoy them, even though I would never recommend them as a line to max out first. I think Zao has one of the best cruiser firechances. Germans are quite fun and pretty nasty if played well, the japanese cruisers have nice torps aswell as good guns with unbelievable firechance. Meanwhilst all the notorious big caliber nations are pretty bad at reloading even though they are quite fun. Iam not sure what the US cruiser split will give us and thus they might become what you are looking for. The US has a few good firestarters like saint luis and the cleve, but thats not their main flavour AS OF YET. Later on you get bigger calibre and a radar which is both nice. The reload is not extraordinary in any regard though. But are problably the biggest glasscanons ever thanks to floating citadels. Mainly because they get some of the most ridiculous fire chances (looking at the Molotov intensifies). Well Soviet cruisers are problably your best bet for starting fires.
